Balmain and H&M Join Forces For Capsule Collection
High fashion collaborations with international “fast fashion” retailers create a fiery excitement among style lovers that is hard to miss!
This time the IT capsule collection is Balmain for H&M debuting on November 5, 2015, following the quickly sold out Lilly Pulitzer collection at Target from this spring.
The #HMBalmainnation hashtag dominated social media after Balmain Creative Director Olivier Rousteing announced the line at the 2015 Billboard Music Awards.
Six starlets wore Balmain on the BMA red carpet, including Taylor Swift, Chrissy Teigen, Kendall and Kylie Jenner and more (and six of the ten on my best-dressed list). Jourdan Dunn and Kendall Jenner are pictured here wearing pieces from the “hi-low” collection. (High fashion, low price).
Founded in 1945, the French haute couture house Balmain is known for their edgy embellishments, regal fabrics, and provocative cuts.
And since 2011, when currently 29-year-old Rousteing became Creative Director of the brand, its popularity has successfully appealed to the next generation of fashion consumers while maintaining its loyal base.
Ann-Sofie Johansson, Head of Design at H&M, is overseeing the collection’s creative process. Past collaborative wins for H&M include both the Lavin and Alexander Wang lines.
Rousteing told Style.com, “H&M really challenged themselves with craftsmanship, with the high couture level of France, and the results are great.” Can’t wait for the reveal!
The Balmain for H&M collection will feature clothing and accessories for both women and men, and will be available at 250 stores worldwide and online. Remember to mark your calendars for November 5!
Thank you for sharing the inspiration with friends! Let’s stay connected.
