United States: Leap into Resort Wear in 2012

As we start up a new year, winter is just getting started; temperatures continue to drop and piles of snow keep building. Ironically, the depths of winter bring about the sunniest spring clothes. Resort wear collections are in full bloom, popping up in stores all over! Here are a few essential spring pieces that will transform your wardrobe from flat to brilliant, even during the dreariest winter months.

Printed mini-dress: Funky prints can make your wardrobe sizzle during the winter. Pair either dress with a simple black cardigan, sweater tights and cute pair of shoes (I’m thinking anything metallic for extra shine) during the winter for some extra warmth. Lace has become a staple for all seasons, adding femininity to any outfit. Pair a lace top with light or dark skinny jeans and your favorite knee length leather boots. Add a southwestern twist by enhancing the look with turquoise accessories and an oversized leather tote to complete the look.

Cool Colored Denim: Ever notice how black seems to dominate your fashion choices in the winter? Brighten up any outfit with colored denim! Colored denim may seem garish at first but when styled correctly it can make an outfit look both polished and bold. Take a pair of green skinny jeans, tuck in a denim button down and accessorize with a long gold necklace and shearling moccasins to keep your toes warm.
