Lanvin Spring/Summer 2014 RTW

The inspiration behind Lanvin’s Spring 2014 RTW collection is simple to spot…it’s LAMÉ!  Add the design savvy of Alber Elbaz to this metallic fabric and you get a collection that is sure to stand out!

If you are a big fan of shine, like me, then this collection is worth paying attention to.  Satins, brocades and lurex were vaporized, stonewashed and sliced to create a collection of distinguished garments, composed of a variety of silhouettes.  Sheaths, drop waist dresses, strapless minis, shirt dresses, jumpsuits, two pieces and more proved the collection was not only bold on the surface but dynamic in its construction.

My favorite is the long-sleeve fitted sheath, pictured first, which Rita Ora wore to the 2014 Grammys.  I think the dress looks better which dark hair though, because of the bold coloring, the tones of Rita’s hair and the dress were not complementary.  What do you think?

See more of my favorite picks from the collection below!  And if you’re looking to channel this collection in your look give lamé a try.  Have an awesome day!
