My professional experiences are multifaceted. I started my television career in conjunction with the business of fashion. I have expanded into Christian ministry through Prophetic Release, and federal law journalism through Kingdom Column. Other industries I have served in include banking, real-estate and education. Prior to being an Algebra I Math Teacher and Learning Specialist at Noble Network's Muchin College Prep, I served as the Founder and Executive Director of Empower Our Youth, a 501(C)(3) not-for-profit organization serving at risk youth in Milwaukee, WI. I provided classes on college readiness, career building, and financial literacy. I produced an etiquette Black and White Ball, and wrote a grant to Great Lakes that financed an out-of-state colleges tour to Atlanta, Georgia for nearly 40 students and their parents combined. I earned my bachelor's degree in Broadcast Communications from Marquette University, and master's degree in Business and Entrepreneurship from Columbia College Chicago. Marquette University is home to one of the most prestigious law schools in the United States, which was reinforced throughout my course work. I also graduated from the Marquette University's Upward Bound and McNair Scholars programs. Columbia College Chicago's broad range of business coursework and media connections helped me swiftly launch my career in television.
When I was 14 years old I decided to give up television for lent. About two weeks later, when my fast ended, I turned on my television. The first thing I saw was a teen forum show. That day, I knew I would build a successful career in television where I would use my voice to serve others. Fast forward eight years from my lent fast; God opened my first television career door. I was offered an opportunity to be a television content producer and fashion reporter for WCIU-TV in Chicago. There, I produced, hosted, and edited 400 exciting and uplifting fashion-related shows including confidence boosting makeovers. I also produced fashion shows for ABC 7 Chicago and WGN-TV, and co-hosted a style segment with Steve Harvey on NBC's Steve Harvey Show. This is one testimony of how God blesses us when we love Him, and fast to honor Him.
